I've never lived alone before, so obviously the best time to try it out is in a strange town, and start a new job at the same time. It's not all as bad as it sounds though, yes I was 150 miles away from my nearest and dearest, but I lived in a nice little flat in the centre of beautiful Harrogate.

It isn't always necessary to be making, baking or creating. It's not necessary to be all go! Go! Go! It's good to take time out and do, well, whatever you fancy. I don't know why I needed to be alone to discover this, it's only me who puts the pressure on myself to keep doing stuff all the time but it's a lesson I will try to hold on to. The other things I learned? I hate microwave meals and find a capsule wardrobe far too limiting, profound, I know.
Anyway, it's so good to be back with my family and my dogs, finishing off the packing and the preparation before we ALL move North for keeps on Tuesday.
It may be a while before you hear from me again, but God willing, the next time you do, we will be firmly ensconced in our rural retreat.
