It's been a quiet old weekend. I wasn't working on Saturday, but hubby and I had plenty of errands to run. We're making a concerted effort not to be lining the pockets of the local supermarket, so we were up and out on Saturday morning to do our shopping at the market. We headed into town, but before getting down to shopping, decided to go for a coffee in a new cafe in town, Sovrano.
A coffee turned into lunch, largely because the food that people were having looked so damn delicious, and because the atmosphere in the cafe was great, lots of bustle and they were playing Johnny Cash in the background too.

The market was so busy, I think it was filled with everyone who had been snowed in for the past week, all taking advantage of the melt and getting out for their shopping. I hate supermarket shopping, but the market feels like such a vibrant and eclectic place that I really enjoy it. Before we made it to the food buying we stopped off at a nick nack stall, and hubby bought me these 2 gorgeous brooches. One is either agate or connemara marble, I can't decide which, and the other is a 1970s pewter one.
After getting our shopping we stopped off at the wool stall, where the lady was able to order me in a ball of wool I've been looking for for months in order to finish a scarf I'm knitting for hubby. My first ever knit I might add. Then it was home, via my Mum's to drop off some shopping as she's been really poorly for a few weeks now.
Today has been a chilled mix of visiting inlaws, doing some bits for my Mum and enjoying a mammoth Sunday roast. I'll just leave you with a stark warning of why you should never leave your dogs alone with your laptop, as we did this weekend.

That's a gorgeous dress and you look fab in it.
I love welsh tweed, it's so beautiful. On my "look out for list" when I go vintage hunting is a welsh tweed cape, one day it shall be mine ;)
The brooches are lovely too...x
The 70's pewter brooch is gorgeous. What a lovely find.
I hope your mum is feeling better soon.

I love coffee shops. Your brooches are so beautiful!
See, Coventry's obviously loads posher than Walsall with fancy cafe culture and the like! You look lovely in your Welsh Tapestry dress, cosy but colourful. Love those brooches, the gemstone one looks like a Miracle one (always popular on eBay).Hope your Mum feels much better soon. xxx
I love a good cafe and a good market, so I think I would have enjoyed the day out with you, Louise!
Great brooches, the pewter one looks art nouveau-ish in style.
You look fabulous in the Welsh tapestry dress, the colour really suits you!
Oh Alfie... xxxxx
wonderful brooches! That cafe looks rather nice, we're severely lacking in decent cafes here. And I love the doggy dating website!
I so enjoyed seeing your world....and your treasures found. I visited the UK for the first time ever, in November and fell in love with the country! Thanks for sharing!
